Know Your Numbers Week! 2018

The highlight is Know your Numbers! Week, the nation's largest annual blood pressure testing and awareness event. This takes place from 10th to 16th September and provides free checks for around 250,000 adults across the UK.

This year the question is 'Do you KNOW YOUR risks of high blood pressure NUMBERS?'

High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, which is why is it often referred to as the silent killer. The only way to know you have it is to have a check. Therefore in 2018 we want to encourage ALL family members to check their blood pressure, so if detected, it can be easily treated thereby reducing your risk of a stroke or heart disease.

Know your Numbers! Week is the UK's biggest and most far reaching blood pressure testing event and awareness week. Each year, hundreds of "Pressure Stations" offer free blood pressure checks across the UK, enabling thousands of people to get a free blood pressure check. It encourages adults across the UK to know their blood pressure numbers and take the necessary action to reach and maintain a healthy blood pressure. 

Pressure Stations are located throughout the community including pharmacies, workplaces, GP surgeries, hospitals, health clubs, leisure centres, shopping centres and supermarkets.

Find a Pressure Station near you. If there isn't a Pressure Station near you, we would encourage you to pop along to your local pharmacy as many do offer blood pressure checks as part of their service, visit your GP or use a home blood pressure monitor if you have one.
